Artist, Curator, and Educator
I am an artist, curator, and educator specializing in - but not limited to - textiles and craft practices. In all these roles, I enjoy forging new connections between people, places, materials, and ideas. I have over 25 years of experience working in the field of exhibitions, from the creation of the work to the installation and exhibition of, care for, and sensitive discourse around work in diverse mediums.
I have mentored emerging artists in charting distinctive paths forward in their practice and career, and I have worked with emerging curators to fine tune their planning process as well as their vision. More recently, I have enjoyed connecting exhibition programming with other non-profit groups to craft engagement opportunities for queer youth. I am most excited about finding new ways to present components within an exhibition with a careful consideration for the transitions and dialog between diverse works.
I have worked within many kinds of spaces including museums, as well as academic, commercial, and non-profit spaces. Each setting brings with it unique challenges, opportunities, and audiences to which an overall concept and goal can be tailored.
I look forward to helping you bring your unique vision to light, and I hope to expand the possibilities for your creative life just as my mentors have done so for me.
