INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINED CREATIVITY
Mentor
Leslie Gerber-Seid
Contemporary Art Advisor
I am a contemporary art advisor with more than 35 years of experience working closely with collectors, artists, and galleries. Throughout my career, I have helped individuals build meaningful collections while developing long-standing relationships across the contemporary art world.
As a mentor, I bring the perspective of someone who has spent decades looking at art, visiting artists’ studios and exhibitions, and understanding how collectors discover, respond to, and ultimately live with art. I enjoy engaging deeply with an artist’s work and offering thoughtful, candid feedback from a perspective that artists don’t always have access to—that of the advisor and collector.
I can offer guidance on:
How to present and talk about your work clearly and authentically
Understanding how collectors and art advisors look at and evaluate work
Building meaningful relationships with galleries, advisors, and collectors
Navigating the commercial art world and art market
Studio visits and presenting your work effectively
Pricing and positioning your work
Developing a sustainable career while remaining true to your practice
I see mentorship as an opportunity for honest conversation and exchange. My goal is to share the perspective and knowledge I’ve gained over decades in the art world, while helping artists better understand how their work fits into the larger ecosystem and how to build relationships that can support their careers over time.
